Paul Blundy

I have more than thirty years’ experience practicing business law as a partner at two of Canada’s leading business law firms. I have had a broad and diversified legal practice most recently as a senior partner at Bennett Jones LLP, where I specialized in construction and infrastructure procurement, project finance, and infrastructure delivery, to focus on arbitration and adjudication.

I am a graduate in Civil Engineering and worked for Imperial Oil in Edmonton and Calgary as a project engineer for surface facilities. After graduating from law school, I practiced law in Toronto and became a specialist in major project delivery across Canada and internationally. I was the leader of Bennett Jones’ public infrastructure projects practice.

I have acted for participants and sponsors in a wide variety of Public-Private Partnership (P3) transactions in various sectors, leading the legal advisory teams for the project proponents, contractors, lenders, underwriters, service providers and owners.

I have acted for clients in real estate, power, mining, forestry, oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare and transportation and on behalf of architects, engineers and other professional advisors, providing strategic advice on the creation and structuring of project ownership, management and control arrangements and management of disputes and their resolution.

I have acted on behalf of clients in a variety of alternative dispute resolution processes arising out of infrastructure delivery and construction contracts. I am a certified adjudicator for Alberta Dispute Adjudication on Construction Contracts (ADACC), Ontario Dispute Adjudication on Construction Contracts (CanDACC) and Canada Dispute Adjudication on Construction Contracts (CanDACC).
